The Brief
Northface Apparel needed a storefront that could carry striking product photography without slowing to a crawl — their previous site took close to nine seconds to load on mobile, and customers were leaving before it finished.
The Process
We rebuilt the front end from scratch around a component library, with image loading, sizing and formats handled automatically rather than by hand. Wireframes were tested with a handful of regular customers before any visual polish went on, so the structure was right before the styling started.
The Outcome
Mobile load time dropped from nine seconds to under two, and the brand now ships new seasonal collections to the live site themselves in an afternoon, where it used to take a developer most of a week.
